This lovely venue is used for the delivery, of the APAC Certificate
in Therapeutic Play and Diploma in Play Therapy
play therapy training courses. Isle Play Therapeutic Centre is
situated in the West Wing of a large Country House set in an area of
outstanding natural beauty. The room that is currently used for
training, was used as a "Prayer room" in the early twentieth
century. This is the reason why we feel it has such a peaceful
atmosphere.

Travel
There is plenty of parking space, although we
do encourage people to car share. Students travelling from the mainland,
may be transported to and from the ferry/Hovercraft services as
part of the service we offer (please give us at least 24 hours notice if
this is required). The most convenient way from the mainland is to
use the Portsmouth Hovercraft service. Park your car at the
terminal. Crossings every half hour at peak times to Ryde. Takes
about 20 minutes.
Isle Play Therapeutic Centre is situated
a few minutes drive and approximately 15 minutes walk from Newport, the
Isle of Wight's main town centre. Newport is a historic market town with
many well known High Street shops, excellent pubs and restaurants.
B&B can be arranged for you locally. Refreshments are
available for all students throughout the day and a home made lunch is provided
daily.
The House and Grounds

All students are more than welcome to enjoy
the grounds and experience the wonderful scenic views. The house is
south facing so you will enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the morning and
likewise the sunsets in the evening. The grounds include secluded walled
garden with patio and barbeque area and small copse. Because this is an
area of outstanding natural beauty, many trees in the garden and nearby
area have tree preservation orders on them.
From the garden many species of bird can be
seen; jay, woodpecker, pheasants etc. The garden is also home to
badgers, foxes, rabbits and the rarest of all, the Islands pride and
joy, the red squirrel. Llama and Alpaca on occasion come up to the
garden fence, and across the adjoining field, deer can be sited often
silhouetted against the backdrop of the picturesque evening sunsets.
