Practitioners are responsible for clarifying who holds responsibility for the work with the client.
There is a general obligation for all play, creative arts therapists and filial play coach/mentors, supervisors and trainers to receive supervision/consultative support independently of any managerial relationships.
Supervisors and managers have a responsibility to maintain and enhance good practice by practitioners, to protect clients from poor practice and to acquire the attitudes, skills and knowledge required by their role.
(In this context 'supervisors' refers to clinical supervisors and 'manager' to line management. The PTUK competency framework will be expanded in the near future to clarify these definitions)
