Remuneration of Certified Practitioners of Therapeutic Play, Play Therapists and Filial Play Coaches/Mentors varies according to
experience and geographic location. Practitioners who have successfully completed a PTUK accredited training programme have
acquired a considerable number of specific competencies and practice hours that place them on an equal footing, or higher, when
compared to other therapists. Furthermore their training and practice has been validated by research to a degree that is
uncommon in other areas of mental health. Therefore PTUK Members, as a whole, should expect to be at the higher end of the
pay scales given, as a guidance in the table below:
| |
£ per annum |
| Entry (Band 7) |
22,400 - 29,000 |
| Main grade
practitioners |
26,800 - 30,200 |
| 33,300 - 42,600 |
| Specialists, consultants,
management |
41,200 - 49,500 |
Sessional rates range typically from £35 to £70 depending upon experience and other variables..
Part time working will normally be paid pro rata. It is unlikely that you will be able to earn more than £49000 per annum
working in the public sector during the next three years. You could however consider becoming self employed using
portfolio working.
